Slowly, cautiously, the butterfly creeped out of its chrysalis, taking its first glance at the outside world as a winged insect. Hesitantly, it crawled onto the branch that the chrysalis hung from and flexed its wings, ready to take flight. The girl watching the butterfly in fascination tilted her head in confusion when it just wouldn’t take off. Suddenly, she widened her eyes in horror as she noticed a lizard in the leaves, waiting for the right moment to strike. She blinked only once before the butterfly was gone.
