When It Just wouldn’t Take Off
Gently, the majestic eagle made sure its eaglets were ready. She let them take off one by one. By the time the last eaglet was ready, the other three were starting to get a hold of flying. The last eaglet took a running start and frantically flapped its wings but it couldn’t get off the ledge. After about a minute of this, when they were sure it just wouldn’t take off, it jumped off the ledge, clawing at the air, tumbling over itself. As the eaglet plummeted, it slowly regained balance and shakily glided the rest of the way down.
Hi Patrick! This reminds me of a nature documentary. I like how you used specific verbs like “clawing”, which make the actions of the eaglet more vivid. I was surprised but relieved to see the eaglet recover its balance so quickly. Keep writing!
